“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
(Matthew 28:19–20, ESV)
Our vision at Christ Community Church is the same as every gospel congregation throughout time and around the world: as those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we want to bring him glory. The main way we do that is through our life together as a church, as this gospel community demonstrates the love of Jesus through our love for each other (John 13:35). We gather together to sing his praises, offer our prayers, hear his Word, and care for one another. And we serve side by side to see Jesus worshipped as the true King both here in Grass Valley and to the ends of the earth.
This means that the vision for Christ Community Church is both revolutionary and yet ordinary at the same time. We believe in the power of the gospel to transform lives, to bring life where there is only death and lovers of God among those who despise him - this is nothing less than revolutionary. However, our vision to see this accomplished is quite ordinary in that it comes through the ordinary means of grace which Jesus has prescribed: the Word and the Spirit.
Therefore, ultimately, our vision is one of deep dependence upon God himself, for he alone can accomplish it and through the means he has provided. We want nothing less than total reformation within our own lives, homes and community. We will work with the grace that God provides to ensure that the gospel is faithfully preached and applied so that disciples are made for the good of these foothills and to the glory of God.
