The book of Ephesians could easily be considered "basic Christianity." Not in the sense that it is elementary or juvenile, but that its content touches on all the essential areas of Christian life. From the foundational understanding of our salvation and into relationships, vocation, emotions and marriage - the gospel changes everything.

It is through the book of Exodus that we learn something of ourselves and our God. Through the bitterness of oppression, the miracle of redemption and the joy of God's presence among his people, the book of Exodus is most certainly good news for God's people!

While the book of Jonah is most often thought of as a story about a man swallowed by a great fish, it is really a story about being swallowed up by God's grace. The book of Jonah preaches the gospel to us. In his loving kindness, God relentlessly pursues rebels like us and saves us, and not just once to call us to salvation, but 100 times over throughout our lives!

Jesus'  question  to Peter "Who do you say I am" is perhaps one of the most important questions ever asked, and one that the entire gospel of Mark revolves around. For within Mark's gospel narrative, we are introduced to Jesus in such a way that those unfamiliar with the Christian faith find straightforward answers, and those very familiar with Christianity may find challenging to their comfortable traditions. Within the gospel of Mark, we are able to answer the question, "who is Jesus?"
